Announcement for Chapter 1: Sept 12, 2000

A baker's dozen of pictures are now up on Sarah's website [age 0 - 2 weeks].

Many thanks to the very many of you who've sent us congratulatory emails, phone calls, cards, and gifts! We are truly blessed by and grateful for our tremendous number of wonderfully supportive friends and family members. After two weeks of new Momhood we're just beginning to come up for air, catch a few ZZZs now and then, and regain the mental bandwith required to compose a complete sentence. Which means, if we haven't called or emailed you a reply yet please forgive us and be patient, we will get back to you soon! Feel free to call us; if we're napping we'll turn off the bell and you'll get to hear "Little Potato" on our voicemail message.

With much much love and thanks,

>Lise & Els

>>Sarah Ariel Rose Kushner was born on Monday, August 28th, at 9:37 AM, at Group Health Hospital in Seattle. Sarah weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and measured 20 inches at birth. (But she's already grown an inch!)

>>The baby was delivered by C-section because she was breech and overdue and didn't tolerate an attempt to turn her around manually (her heart rate went down and then she scooted under the doc's hand and popped her head back up). Turns out that her cord was pretty short and non-stretchy, so a scheduled C-section was the best and safest way for her to get born.

>>We came home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and Lise and the baby are both doing well. We're incredibly grateful that she is safe and healthy and finally here!

>>Pictures coming soon. We'll get digital photos up just as soon as we have caught our breaths and gotten a little more sleep.)

>>Love to all,

>>Lise, Els and Sarah
